Navin Gandharv was born on Dec 20,1976 in Dewas M.P. into a family of Musicians. Naviin is nevertheless an extremely talented belabaharr & tabla player with a unique & different approach, His grand father pt. Kashiram was a well known Sarangi player & his maternal grand father was pt. Mansingh was a great Sarangi & tabla player. His father pt. Babulal Gandharv is an eminent musician as well as the proud inventor of the unique instrument BELABAHARR that gives a tonal effect resembling sarangi with its unique individuality of rich sound using the convenience of violin adding more scope than any other bow instrument which is historical achievement in world music. Naviin is learning belabaharr from his father since last 6 to 7 yrs . Besides tabla solo & accompaniments he has a special liking & love for belabaharr & has the potential to carry on the tradition of this beautiful looking & sounding instrument of which in present he is probably the only performer in the world.

As a young artist Naviin leads a busy n exiting concert career. He debuted accompaning his father at Acharya Allauddin music circle Indore. He gave his 1st belabaharr performance at kal ke kalakar sammelan & got huge positive response from listeners and critics. He is the only artiste to have performed two instruments at the same stage with dexterity despite the fact that both are extremely different from each other. Naviin always had an attraction towards the tabla since childhood. He started learning at the age of 16 under pt. Vishwanath Mishra & subsequently had the privilege of learning under the great legendary tabla maestro Ustad Allarakha Khansahab. He grasped the fragrance of Punjab Gharana for about 6 to 7 years & imbibed in his style of playing. Infact the great ghazal maestro Ustad Ghulamali Khan Sahab was so impressed by the young artists talent that he shared some of his priced tabla secrets which is a rare achievement. Naviin is inspired by legends like sarangi maestro Pt.Ramnarayan.

Naviin participated in various intercollegiate youth festivals as during his college days & won prizes at dalmis utsav ,Gokhale utsav,Aavishkar etc. He has accompanied wizards like Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia ,Ustad Irshadkhan .Bhajan Samrat Anup Jalota & many senior & upcoming artists.

Naviin has performed for various musical & other institutions like Essar group, Lakme fashion week , Vedic Celebrations, Kanakia art foundation, Indus internationals, Hindustan times, Rotary club, Sahara India, Celebrate bandra, Ruia house ,NCPA,OSHO,SUBHASH GHAI;S WHISTLING WOODS INTERNATIONALS, Jewel of India , Adyatmik Raj Gurukulam Indoor stadium Orrissa, Ramnarayan foundation , Gandharva Mahavidyalaya , Barsi of Omkarnath Thakur, Hopes 2008, Art Des film centre, Museum Kala Ghoda, Kanha Festival, Mayo college Ajmer , IMG St Xaviers college. Apart from his solo concerts Navin with his group including elder brother Devanand Gandharv who is a gifted Composer, Arranger Keyboardist create wonderful soothing roohani & folk music which cuts across cultural boundaries & appeals to people of all classes & backgrounds. The aesthetics which is a speciality of Navin's music goes beyond technicalities producing immense pleasure Infact the great Bansuri maestro Pt.Hariprasad Chaurasia blessed him that he is going to turn out into an exciting & promising artiste of the future generation.
