Pote - Indian Classical Vocalist Gifted with a mellifluous and tuneful voice and talent to absorb and present the complex genres of Hindustani vocal music, Pallavi Pote exemplifies a studious and pleasing musician of the younger generation.
Pallavi's childhood was spent in an ambience filled with the music and memories of her maternal grandfather, Padmabhushan pandit Ram Marathe, who is well known for his versatility, scholarship and tasir, the ability to move the audience by his music. Needless to say, Pallavi's mother-Mangal Oak who was trained in this legacy, was her first teacher.
Pallavi has trained under a number of senior and committed musicians. Beginning with shri Madhusudan Bhave, Pallavi then moved on to take regular and rigourous lessons from Smt Madhuri Oak a senior disciple of pandit Nivruttibua Sarnaik of the Jaipur-Atrauli gharana and Pandit Chhota Gandharva, one of the most versatile and . Scholar musicians and thespian. During this preriod Pallavi completed her B.A. in vocal music from Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University at Aurangabad, April 1999 with Gold Medal.
During the two years on an MA programme in vocal music in the lalit Kala Kerndra Gurukul at the University of Pune, April 2001, Pallavi had an opportunity to train under another well known exponent of Jaipur Atrauli tradiation, Vidushi Alaka Deo-Marulkar.
As a conccert artist, Pallavi Combines the presentation of Khayal and other forms such as natya Sangeet and light music and has performaed in a number of important venues such as Pune, Mumbai Kolahapur, Sangli, Satara, Aurangabad , Parbhani etc.
