Kale - Indian Classical Vocalist An acknowledged all rounder at school, Ruchira decided to commit herself to music at the tender age of 12.Training initially under her father Sh. Dilip Kale, she further learnt the intricacies of Hindustani Classical & Semi Classical vocal music from the renowned vocalist of Jaipur Gharana, Smt.Alka Deo Marulkar. Thereafter, Ruchira became associated with the prestigious ITC Sangeet Research Academy,Kolkata in 2003 and received invaluable ”Taleem” from the celebrated Gwalior-Jaipur gharana vocalist Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar. She also received significant guidance in Thumri,Dadra,Hori,Kajri etc from the doyen of Banaras gharana, Smt.Girija Devi.
This passionate commitment to her music has brought forth many accolades for Ruchira in its natural course. She has won many awards for music at the school, collegiate and national levels, noteworthy being, the All India Radio Classical Vocal Competition,1999(National),Gaanvardhan Sansthan award(Pune),Dewal Club award(Kolhapur).Ruchira was awarded with the Central Government’s Scholarship for Young Talents in 2000.Along with that ,she has also completed her Master’s Degree in English Literature.
Ruchira has performed at many prestigious platforms in India and abroad, the ITC SRA Sangeet Sammelans, Lucknow,Delhi; the ITC SRA Scholars’ Presentation, Kolkata; Yuva Mahotsav,DMCC,Mumbai;Yashwantrao Chavan Center,Mumbai; Pt.Ratanjankar Smriti Samaroh,Gwalior;Gururao Deshpande Sangeet Sabha, Bangalore; “Aarambh”,Bharat Bhavan,Bhopal;“Uttaradhikar”,M.P.Govt Khandwa; Vedic Heritage Aashram,Long Island,New York,to name a significant few. Ruchira has also visited the USA and Canada for a successful concert and Lecture-Demonstration tour in 2002.She was named the “Young Achiever” by Mid-Day, Pune; and the “Woman Achiever” by Dainik Bhaskar,Bhopal, both being important national dailies.
She has been appreciated and blessed by the likes of Ustad Zakir Hussain, Pt.Jasraj, Pt.Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Pt.C.R.Vyas, Pt.Ajay Chakravarty, Gundecha Bandhus, Pt.Suresh Talwalkar, Smt.Padma Talwalkar, Smt.Shruti Sadolikar, Pt.Kumar Prasad Mukherjee, Pt.Buddhadev Dasgupta etc.which in itself is the kind of achievement a young performer looks forward to.
Ruchira has recently become a part of the project, Music Motifs, which has been conceived with the idea to initiate and introduce the present generation of the corporate world to Hindustani Classical Music.She has recently given a performance under its aegis at the Pegasus Training Institute, Bangalore amidst much applause.
